What size is 134 and 134R? I've owned a longarm for 6 years and have never heard those numbers. I usually use a size 16 or 18, as someone else previously mentioned. Smaller needles will flex and therefore miss picking up the bobbin thread, which results in skipped stitches.
Another problem could be the tightness of your quilt sandwich. If it's *too* tight, it can skip. Try loosening the tension of the quilt sandwich itself, NOT the thread tension.

Those aren't sizes, those are needle system numbers.

Juki longarms use system 134R Schmetz 134R Needle System

That is exactly the sign of an encoder issue. Is sounds like the wheels aren't turning freely at low speeds - maybe dragging or not making good, reliable contact with the rails. It could be the encoder itself or maybe the wheels need cleaning.

Consider giving Juki Junkies a shout to see if they can walk you through some other things to try.

A lot of times when a longarm is skipping stitches, it's because the needle/hook distance is too wide. The hook should almost touch the needle as it goes around. It's a simple timing setting that you could probably do yourself.

    UPDATE ON SKIPPING STITCHES!
I finally have it working!! I ended up removing the encoders as the back one was not touching the rail. I got that fixed and it was better but still skipping some. Then I recalibrated the stitch regulator and that fixed it!
Thank you all for your help. I appreciate it so much!
