Toile
#2
I would consider using toile to make a quilt in a block pattern with one large square. I'd fussy cut the toile so that a scene (or part of a scene) is centered on the largest square and then surround it with coordinating fabrics. Toile is just so expensive that I rarely purchase it except for special projects.

I love using toiles. I don't fussy cut it, though, it seems to do well when used in large enough squares to show a "story" though. Here is a toile I used in a block, behind the deer.
I will try to find some more pictures to share.

I love toile fabrics. I used toile for the backing on a scrappy postage stamp basket quilt. It was beautiful and just made the quilt.
Also any blocks for "not wanting to cut your fabric" for showing off the fabric would be nice too. And then maybe use for borders too? There are a couple of books out for quilts to show off fabrics. don't know the names of them thought.
Oh, in fact it is the one on my avatar. the toile was blue and I put a blue binding on. It is lovely!
