Press the seams before you open them to keep it from unraveling.

Welcome from Missouri. I have a stitch on my machine that will backstitch in the beginning and then you hit the backstitch button at the end of the seam. I know that the stitching won't come out if you don't backstitch but I like to backstitch to be sure that it doesn't come loose.

Chain piecing doesn't always work well, but when you can do it--DO IT! It saves a lot of time and thread.

Google Eleanor Burns, as she was probably the person who started the chain piecing. She also includes videos on her website, "Quilt in a Day". There are other videos on the web. When I lose my mind/memory, I do a web search as there is a bounty of info out there.

    Welcome to this wonderful site.

    From sunny Minnesota,
    Judy
