I use my flip open Ott light which i place under the glass shelf of my old fridge. Works great...even is tilted for comfortable drawing. I use magnets along the metal frame of the glass to hold my project from moving.

This is what I do also, and it works very well! I too have wanted a light box for a long time, but you know, the way I do it now is actually better, since I don't have to go looking for a place to stash a light box after I've used it. As someone has already said, a light box is needed only once in a while.

Good deal. I bought one at a garage sale a couple of years ago for $3.00, still in the sealed box.

This is what I have also, a glass top coffee table. Works great.

I'm a bit primitive. window, tape pattern, tape cloth over and pencil to draw the pattern.

Love all these great ideas! I'm like Bella Boo - don't need one very often but when you do nothing else will do.

Great deal. I saw one of those at the store the other day (but it was $24.99) and thought it would work as a light box. If I can find one as cheap as you did, I'll be buying it.

I cheat...I flip an almost clear plastic tote upside down and stick my OTT lite underneath after flipping it open! Easy Peasy and it's always worked for me.

I bought one of the crayola ones too...amazon had a special for 10.00. I've been tracing coloring books to make an abc quilt for my daughter if it's not bright enough I'll just add a small light inside. It's very portable and has a nice lightweight but sturdy surface.
