Triangle Points on Rulers
There is probably a simple reason as to why some triangle rules have the point cut off, or have the points covered with yellow. I like having the points. It actually is getting harder to buy a ruler with points nowadays. There must be a simple reason for that. Can someone explain it to me?

I prefer the points as well. I think it makes it easier to line up the pieces of the blocks together to sew them. Like lining up the triangle point with the corner of the square. Otherwise if it doesn't have the point, then you need to line up the triangle down a from the corner on the square, instead of matching point edge to point edge. Same with sewing the triangle with other types of pieces. To me that would be just another pain of placing the no point triangle in the right place. Other pieces are still going to have dog ears that I will trim anyways, what does it matter if there are two layers of dog ears or one from the square for example. I'm still going to trim. Leave my rulers alone! Give me my points!

also could depend on the block. For example, I find it extremely difficult to line up a triangle in a square block when points are present. My Go cuts the dog ear parts off so it is really easy to line up the three different triangles. Then I just have to figure out the scant 1/4 inch seams I need to get the right finished size.
