Default Trip around the world quilt

I am trying to make a trip around the world quilt. It needs to be queen/king size but I don't want it to turn out square. I am using 2 1/2" blocks and 7 different colors. I am making 2 corners at the same time and there will be no borders. Can someone please tell me what to do so it will not come out square.

I used the pattern on Bonnie Hunter's site and it came out a rectangle, maybe have a look at that and see if it helps?

Have you a pattern?? I did my Avatar using squares 1.5" finished. Here is a charity quilt I plan to make some day. The way I approach the design is to sew the strips on one side from top to bottom. Then it is just piecing the center strips. Makes it easier to control the length of quilt since all you have to do is add additional strips Hope this helps. Did the design on my Electric Quilt 5.0.

    I see 2 choices:
1 - like the design ManiaQuiler2 above. Just end it so it is a rectangle.
2 - make it with diamonds instead of squares. I believe this might be what Jan Krenz does in her pattern.

I have made two of them and they turned out rectangle and not square.

I am working on a Trip Around the World, right now for my sister. I am using Eleanor Burns Book. Mine is Queen size and finishes at 94 x 110. The book has 7 different size patterns in it. My squares finish at 4 inches, and I am using 8 fabrics.

Just finished a queen Trip Around the World for my son and used Eleanor Burns pattern. Used 12 - 4" strips (cut in half) sewed together than cut into 2 12" strips. Was one of the easiest quilts I've made in a long time.
