Default Trip to Ireland--ideas for quilt shops??

My husband and I are taking our dream trip to Ireland in Sept and I always try to buy a little fabric on trips--someday I'll make a "Trip Around the world" quilt with them--and suggestions for shops in Ireland? also any suggestions on where to find an Irish quilting magazine? I used to be able to pick them up in Hancock's but can't find them now.

I think a Trip around the Word made from fabrics you collected on your travels is a lovely idea! I hope you find some shops in Ireland from folks online here.

One of the things you'll be quite surprised (shocked?) at, is the prices. Expect to pay around $24US (or 20 Euro) at a quilt shop for a metre (39") of fabric. Most European fabric is imported from the US, although there are a few patterns aimed specifically at the UK/European market.

You don't say whereabouts you're going. This is a link to the Quilters Guild of Ireland which has a list of fabric shops throughout Ireland. Some of these have further links to the shop websites. I'd suggest you call ahead first as some may only be open on certain days/times. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you so much, I checked out the link and bookmarked it. Especially interested in the shop in Cork that is both a bookshop and craft shop--would be a perfect match for hubbie and me!
