Trip to Mary Jo's
#1
My ASG froup is planning a trip to Gastonia, North Carolina in Sept. to visit Mary Jo's fabrics. Has anyone been there and can you give me some heads up for our trip? I'm the organizer.

I live about 45 mins away from Mary Jo's. You will love it :!: I try to limit myself to 1 trip a month or every other month. How many are going? They usually like for you to call ahead and give them a "heads up" so that they will have enough workers on the floor to assist your group, any other groups coming and the rest of the customers that day. The main floor is set-up by color and by theme. Plan plenty of time to look & look & buy & buy  Anything specific you want to know?

Bring plenty of $$ or better yet ..... an unscathed credit card!!
Mary Jo's is a quilter's dream come true. As Piedmont Quilter said, it is sorted by theme, color, and some designers. Be sure to have PLENTY of time to explore. Its well worth it.
Piedmont, my daughter lives near Winston-Salem, and I lived in Mooresville for a brief time a while ago. Where are you located? I LOVE North Carolina! :-)

Lady Crafter -
I live in a little town in Stanly County called Stanfield. We are about 20 miles east of Charlotte, south of Concord, west of Albemarle and north of Monroe. Basically, right in the middle of nowhere :) I know Mooresville well, my DH is from Statesville - actully Troutman. I love NC too! We are 3 hours to the beach and the same to the mountains :!:

Piedmont quilter, I am from Statesville, NC. I now live in So. California. My whole family is still in NC, mostly in the Statesville area. That is where my parents were from. My sister lives in Harmony, My niece lives in Raleigh and Nephew in a little town called Bethel near Greenville. I come home about 3 times a year. I am hoping to get my husband to retire either NC or Virginia.
Have fun at Mary Jo's.

I love Mary Jo's and I also go to Long Creek Mills. It is about 5 miles from Mary Jo's and sells threads at incredible prices. I buy all of my embroidery thread for my machine there. $5 for a the large cones. He sells Maderia, Marathon, Robison Anton and so on.
I live in SC about an hour and 45 mins from Mary jo's I was going there Monday but went to Forest City NC instead. There is a wonderful fabric shop there too.
I go to Mary Jo's quite often.

My daughter lives in Gastonia, 2 blocks from Mary Jo's. I am going to Mary Jo's next Monday! I always make a whole day of it. Shop there all morning, go to lunch, and then finish the afternoon back at Maryjo's . Have you visited on line? www.maryjos.com I try to limit myself to about 6 times a year! Take your time looking, it is a little overwhelming at first. Have a great time! And of course, buy, buy, buy!
