    Default Truckers quilt

My new son-in-law is a trucker. His new truck is red and black. He has requested a quilt made with these colors for his truck (I can use 1 other color, and I'm thinking gray). Any ideas? I've thought carpenter star or hunter's star. I want something that goes together fairly quickly. TIA

Warm wishes with tuck fabric as the focus and the other colours in the pieced blocks.

I think red and gray were born to go together.

I made a number of quilts for my Rob over the years for his truck sleeper. About 3/4 wide and extra long.

You might want to avoid using white. Red, light gray, and black would look great together. Maybe you could get a paint chip of the color red of his truck.

When DH was on the road, he would sometimes just flop down on the bunk without undressing to catch a short nap now and then.

A thought....take a picture of his truck and get it printed onto fabric. Make that the center of his quilt. Fill in on the outside until you have the size you want.

He wants a quilt made with only 3 colors - gray, red and black.

Would this do? I don't know if there is a pattern for this quilt. I saw something similar somewhere on the internet, probably Pinterest and designed it in EQ7. It is a 9 inch finished, 9 patch block. All the blocks in this quilt are exactly the same block, just turned different ways. The quilt as shown here is 72 x 72 without any borders. Because it is a 9 patch, it could easily be upsized to a 12 inch block. The last quilt is 6 x 8 blocks and with binding should finish about 54 x 72.

Oh wow, Barb, that is a very eye catching design. My husband drives a truck also. And just made his last payment in February. (Yippee, we now own the money pit. A little back story: It got hit by lightning last year. And, it's just not been the same.) I think this design would look awesome on a bed in a truck. I love seeing the chosen colors in the design you made.

stitchnluvr, I wish your new son-in-law all the best.

Barb! I love your design! It's great for a manly quilt.
