    Default A true quilting friend.....

While telling one of my quilting friends about cutting my finger with my rotary cutter (and needing 4 stitches), my TRUE friend's first comment was, "Did you get blood on your quilt?!!!!" By-the-by - I didn't and all's well - just being more careful!

Knock on wood, I have NEVER cut myself with a rotary cutter. But the other day, I stuck myself with a straight pin and didn't notice anything. I picked up some pink batiks a few minutes later and I bleed all over one batiks. Tried sucking the blood off but it didn't come out. I am going to have to work around but it blends in with the pink batik !! Lucky me.

LOL. How true! So sorry for your pain.

I'm a firm believer in a safety cutting tool for rotary cutting. An ambulance has had to be called two times to guild because of rotary cuts since I've been a member. Both women had said before that they had been cutting for years and always pay attention so they weren't worried about getting cut.

Lol, that's a quilter for you! I always try to be very careful too, but accidents happen.

Yep, a true quilter ...... worried more about perhaps the irreparable crisis!

    Hope you heal quickly.

    So sorry about your accident!

What sort of safety cutting tools are there?

Sorry you were cut, but I must admit that the "True" friend's comment had me rolling on the floor.

I wear a Fons & Porter Klutz Glove when cutting. It's a bit of a pain always remembering to put it on, but I know that the day I forget, I'll be sorry.

Only a quilter would ask if you got blood on your quilt. It is soooo true. By the way, buy a Klutz glove from Fons and Porter when rotary cutting. It protects the hand not cutting. It really works.

Glad you are OK. Also glad I was sitting down when I read your message. Became a little woozy just thinking about it.
