    ROFLMBO!!!

Martina, I wish you worked in my town!

I agree that a lot of it has to do with management. My Joann's has a terrible manager & most people I know complain bitterly about her. Me, I suck up and be nice and it's amazing how much better my service is. Of course, I know when I go to Joanns that I'll usually stand in line for at least 30 minutes to get anything cut. Yesterday I stood in line for about 40 minutes, and I was the 3rd person in line and there were 2 employees doing the cutting. Good grief! I sure wouldn't go there if I were in a hurry.

I'm pretty sure that Roger works in my JoAnn's.

Is Roger a boy or a girl???????? I've been going there
for years, and joke with all of the salespeople, and, I thought, had fun with them - yet there is never a sign of recognition. What gives? Do you have to be a special type of person to work there?

This must be very contagious ! I think it is going on at all stores now . The dept head in fabrics at walmart is a real witch [ actually with a B ] She is so hateful . I was in there and fabric to be cut . Of course she was the only one there ! I went over and asked her if she would cut my fabric . She screeched at me " You want me to cut it now ! " I started walking off , here she comes all smiles . Well how much do you want ? Told her what I wanted , " well is that all you want ! " I could've cut it myself and wouldn't have to talk to her ! When she's there I don't buy . What a gem ! Annie

Be sure to say a "special hello and Merry Christmas" to Roger from all of us the next time you're in the store (LOL).

In defense of Joanns, they're not all bad. I bought a cutting table in May, on sale at $100 from $169. The outside carton was damaged but the store assured me the contents were OK. I stored it until August as my sewing room was getting remodeled. When I opened the carton in August I found one side panel had a small hole in it (nothing that would stop me from using the table). I took a picture and the bill back to Joanns. They offered me a refund or another style of table as what I had purchased was no longer available. But, I wanted my table because it had storage underneath. I talked my way up to an area manager and went online to Joanns, explaining my problem. All said it was impossible so I resigned myself to patching the hole (after all I had purchased the table at a sizeable discount), and went on vacation. While I was away, my neighbor called to say a large package had been delivered from Hong Kong. When I got home I discovered that it contained a complete panel to replace the damaged one. Joanns came through, even when they said it couldn' be done.

I think Roger was out to lunch before ever leaving for lunch.
Hopefully he didn't come back. Sorry you had that experience
    there.

We have a brand new JA store not close to me. I went to see and they had lots of good stuff, and an accessible restroom that I had to use! It was a cold day! What can I say! I didn't see anything I wanted, and there were lots of clerk type people there. The store has been open for a while now and I wonder how many clerks they have now. The new store is near a Hancock's and a Hobby Lobby, so we have choices. I choose not to shop at JoAnns!

this new store used to be a bookstore (BooksAMillion, I think) so is pretty big....

Well if it junk material I well sure and let people know it came from Hancocks and you cut it for me.
The junk material was red and white plaid with horse heads on it that matched thier folks jackets. And they got asked all time where they could buy some like them.
