    Thank you everyone. Appreciate your input. I did sew the 28 strips together and then "tubed" them. That way I could separate them at different spots to make a more variegated look.

    IowaStitcher! I do not know the name of this pattern but if you look closely, it is just another log cabin design. Large square with strips added. I did use white as shown on this quilt and I cut the outer two pieces 1/8" wider so that it will be easier to square up at the end.
