Simply Quilts had a quilter featuring tube quilts. Her name was Rita Hutchens. Her book was called Totally Tubular Quilts. She has a website, just search her name.
I copied the instructions from the Simply Quilts website.
You may be able to find it by searching on Simply Quilts website. My pattern has the date 8-2-2006.
Haven't made a tube quilt yet. But looked like it would take a lot of fabric, and she cut the fabric several times, looked like there would be a lot of waste. (?)

I have the book if anyone is interested and would be willing to sell it.It doesn't look like something I will get to.

Love tube quilting. Have made several. They are so great because when you cut the block it is perfectly square--no squaring up! Would recommend the strip tube ruler from Crazy Quilts--not totally necessary, but makes things easier. Have fun. Look forward to your tutorial.

I just love tube quilting and you would be surprised at the number of quilters who have never heard of this method. The Missouri Quilt Co. tutorial is really easy to understand. That is how I learned.

There is no waste using Rita Hutchens method. It had a workshop doing her tube quilting. It's a lot of sewing strips together, sorta like a Bargello but everything is sewn in tubes. It's not a fast method like the Tube Quilting cut into squares.

Maybe that's the one I just posted. Someone clever thought it up!
