I'm doing a Turning Twenty and have all my blocks together. It was supposed to be a fat quarter stash quilt, but I was doing our Southern AZ shop hop last week and bought 20 new ones... oops.

Anyway, I'm getting ready to layout the block. Is there supposed to be a rhyme or reason to the orientation of the blocks? Or just lay them out so they look pretty? I have difficulties with randomization :D

Oh, and I absolutely love how fast it was to make this. Took me maybe, at most, 3 hours from ironing to finishing the blocks. So nice to just zip through something!

I would just lay them out and see what you have. It's always fun to play with block orientation.

My favorite quick quilt. I just lay them out and try to find a pleasing pattern. I try to avoid having same fabrics touching, but it really doesn't matter.

According to the pattern book, you should have A and B blocks. There is a set way to put them together.

I have made 3 of these. I always start laying them out the way the picture is and then stand back and make changes that may be needed due to the same colors or fabrics for that matter being to close. At least by starting out according to the pattern you are not totally overwhelmed. Have fun with it.

i've made 2 of these quilts so far. I love them for a quick gift project. Anyway, I twist and turn the blocks. Do what is pleasing to you. I figure a pattern is sometimes just a suggestion not do it this way or else. Let your creativity flow.
