I am new to quilting. I finished a wall hanging that is 21 1/2 by 21 1/2 but I would like to make it into a throw. How would I do this. I don't just want to keep adding borders. I would like to place the 21 1/2 square at an angle and then create triangles to the sides and then lengthen downward. Is this possible.
    Does this make sense? Thanks.

I'm doing a king size like that - approx 20" center with some pieced borders making it around 40" - set on point or diagonal and set other blocks around it. It will end up about 104" square I believe McCall's June 2000 issue has a layout similar. If you do a search you can find it on their site. It's called Bouqets for a cure.
