Made a quilt top using charm packs and white 5"squares. Placing a print charm then a white charm ect? I was wanting to know how it might work out..So has anyone done it this way using print-solid-print-solid ect? Oh and if you had pictures of the end result that would be great to see....

    Thanks everyone

I bought a few charm packs to do the same, only instead of white a coordinating fabric for the blocks and outside borders. I probably won't get to it for a while as I have been commissioned to turn 6 tubs of a friends clothes she saved from her mother into as many quilts as I can.

I haven't done it with charm squares but I have done it with larger squares like 8.5" etc. It's the quickest way I know of to make charity quilts. I'm sure what you are planning will look great when you get it all together. Go for it!

It will look fine, but you could also turn them on point to get a more complicated pattern ( would have to add the corner triangles.)

When I did this Halloween wall hanging, I alternated a print charm with a colored charm and this is how it turned out. I am intrigued about doing it with white. . . .

I've mixed with only a few white ones, but placed them in the center of the quilt top...I'm just sewing the rows together. My top is 11 charms across, 11 charms down, so that is 121 charms total, then I will sew on the borders, will keep you posted
