I did one large shabby queen quilt that was stippled for a wedding and added both antique buttons and ties for the look.

Pictures are from a baby quilt with both quilting and ties. Quilt marks are not washed off yet.

While your quilt is gorgeous, please reconsider prairie points, buttons, bows, and all other embellishments which may present a choking hazard to infants and babies. They seem to get everything into their little fingers and mouths....

Thanks for posting this. I have a turned 3-layer flannel quilt that I just couldn't figure out how to quilt. (I am NOT a professional quilter;) Your comments have convinced me to tie it!

I tie most of my quilts. They are for family and that's what they prefer because I use thick double batting. They love that.

I tie about half of mine. My sis has a frame and we tie together and have a great time!

Hello, I only tie my quilts my mother always told me my hand stitches were too long to quilt!! :D I love the look also it just gives the quilt a special look. Here is a picture of mine. I have several.

I tie off too.. am still learning quilting and this is the way i saw my husbands grandmother did and it looked like something I could handle.. Now my Grandmother was a Quilter and a Beauitful Quilter at that.. I'm going to start and try to teach myself how to free motion quilt and am afraid to try..
