And then there is Quick Strip Paper piecing, where you piece all of one number on a strip of fabric before moving onto the next number of the pattern with the next strip of fabric.
I, personally, find this a really easy and quick way to do it.
There is a class on Craftsy with Peggy Martin who is a fantastic teacher.

I liked that class. I watched it twice. I am packing to move and found a wrapped present in an old Christmas Stocking apparently one of mine as it was a DVD of Peggy Martin's Quick Strip Paper Piecing. LOL

This is what I do also. I use vellum, because I can easily see through the paper and can fold right next to the printed line. I use a dab of glue stick to hold it on. I find it's just as accurate as stitching through the paper.

Paper Piecing and English Paper Piecing are two different techniques. Visit Carol Doak’s website for a great introduction to Paper Piecing. English Paper Piecing is done with fabric folded over a paper template and basted ( Grandmother’s Flower Garden is probably the most recognized English Paper Piecing) visit Paper Pieces.com to see other examples.
