Nobody has mentioned Janome. I think it is the best made, from cheapest to most expensive. I have had Wards, Kenmore, Bernina and Janome. I would rather sew on either of my two Janomes than my 4 month old Bernina. Well no Janome on page 1 anyway.

In order of purchase: Domestic (made by White) 1967,Brother PE100, Babylock Ellageo, Brother Innovis 4000D, Brother PR600II, Singer 301, 99, 221, and 337. I also have a blind hemmer, Babylock Imagine serger, and a Gammill Premier. I LOVE sewing!

my favorite is my 24 year old New Home sewing machine and I have a small Janome for when I use the fancy stitches it has that isn't on the New Home. It is all metal also so it is sturdy. Now a days seems they are all plastic. don't know how odd it is but I prefer the older macnines instead of digital any day.
