Default UFO again - it called me.

Must be the cooler weather calling me to more traditional fall colors, my quilt calendar has a great picture of a homespun "nines around" quilt in darks and homespuns. I started to dig through my bins that I brought from NH 7 years ago when I was in the homespun quilt craze, when I came across a UFO that I started using 1" strips a log cabin variation in fall colors. I fell in love again with the wonky look that 1" strips gave my 85 blocks that I completed. The darks and fall colors feel and look so good, that I am on my way to do the 30+ more blocks that I need. I am so bored with the brights and fun colors - this UFO is just what I need to bring me out of the "quilt doldrums".

Hummmm, hadn't thought of it that way but maybe that is what has inspired me to work with fall the last week or so. They do seem very soothing, and after all those 100 to 113 degree days this summer we all need some cool! Will look forward to seeing your log cabin quilt.

Yep, this cooler weather sure lends itself to quilting. I haven't been able to quilt all summer due to a remodeling project. Fabric was covered up to avoid all the sawdust!! But, I've gotten a baby quilt ready for the binding this week and am ready to start a puzzle applique for my great nephew. .... and I love my new quilting area that was part of the remodel.
