Personally, I like it! I can't wait to see it when you've chosen the sashing. It looks really nice as it is.

Love the stars!!!!!!!!!! Just keep it going--nothing more than muslin if you sash.

Sometimes sashing makes a BIG difference. Have you auditioned anything for that?

I see stars in the blocks, why don't you audition with sashing? Lay down large piece of fabric using a color from the blocks. I would try the light green or yellow from the gingham, a gray or black, blue or red, tan, taupe, muslin, brown. Next switch it up a little, turn the blocks on point put a narrow border of the darker color and then a sashing. Good luck and I think it will be a fun youth quilt.
Another idea is change the texture for the sashing, use a fleece or minkee or flannel.

Ugly where is ugly I think it looks great a child will love it. No sashing I don't think.

I think it would look great without sashing, as long as you have enough blocks. I am a scrappy quilter at heart.

I wouldn't sash it at all. I'd sew all the blocks together just the way they are. You'll be amazed at how well it will turn out!!
