Just use solid color borders to stop the activity in the blocks. I think it looks great so far!

i also like the idea offered of a plain block separating the pieced blocks. I really think this is going to be beautiful

I don't think it is ugly. YOU may like it better with some kind of stripping to pull it together. We are our own worst critic.

It's not ugly. I would put a darkish first border around it to kinda corral it. I LOVE scrappy! Keep going.

Looks like about the same thing I did. I added black sashing and border of tiny flowers that had all the colors in it and it turned out looking pretty good. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Super cute! Scrappy is the way to go when you have a a whole lot of just a little this and that! Also with the price of fabric going up I am a firm believer in using every little piece. I think your little quilt is great!

Maybe the dark blue in between the blocks? I like the blocks personally...

My vote is for no sashing... I see crosses, diamonds and stars that would show up when the blocks are joined directly. A nice border would look good around that, maybe with a predominant color from the blocks.

If you want the center design to stand out more, you might hand stitch around it using the outline stitch with black thread (size 10 purl cotton...the kind used when doing the "Big Stitch").
