I'm sorry I didn't get to yesterday's post. You will never be disappointed with your decision. I have a Pfaff, bought a Bernina. I like my Pfaff, but I love my Bernina. My Pfaff is my workhorse for tough sewing projects. My Bernina is my Queen who is treated with much respect. Your hubby is a Keeper. Very happy for you and proud of his support.

Congratulations to you. I am the owner of a Bernina 820 & it was scary at first but OMG, I love it. I am assuming you purchased it from It's Sew Easy (as I did) & Cristle was amazing. Helped me relax & enjoy the machine. I live in Timmins so once I got home I found it over whelming but she was super!!! Be extra vigilant with the bobbin system as it so different from any other regular machine but what a joy. It's super size is so much better & even though the price is high - the QUALITY is there. Let us know how you like it. I have had mine for a year & now I don't ever use my Singer anymore as the quality difference between the 2 machines is amazing. I even considered selling my 820 & upgrading to the 830 so I could have the embroidery & sewing in the same machine. I hope you like yours as much as I love mine. Best of luck & ENJOY.

    Red face Congratulations!

    Welcome to the Bernina Club.
I am sure you will love your new Bernina. I purchaged the 830 two weeks ago. I handed in my Bernina 640 with an embrodery module (plus a big amount of Euros) and took this lovely machine back home.
When I purchased my Bernina 640 I had 6 lessons and I really leaned a lot. I have learned trick you can not find in any user manuals.
I have always been very happy with my Bernina 640 and could not imagine anything could be a s good - but now I am driving Lamborgini instad of Porche
My advise is to take as many lessons as they offer.
Friday I will have my second lesson on my Bernina 830 and I look forward to it.

    Kind regards
    Anne

I just picked up my Bernina 820 on Saturday. The girl spent about 3-4 hours going over beginning things with me. She didn't want to load me up. When I feel comfortable with this, we'll go a step further. I'll have one-on-one instruction any time I want or need it for the life of the machine. Plus - I get 20% off all purchases at the store all the time. I am now looking for a cabinet - think I will get the Arrow Gidget II - and a rolling tote.
