Can you find out why the previous owner sold it/traded it in? (was it tempermental or the person traded up, etc) I doubt that they will actually tell you if it was tempermental, but they may tell you if the person bought one with more bells and whistles, etc.

I traded in a Crescendo for a Unity - added embroidery. I LOVE both. I don't think you can go wrong with the Baby Lock.

I have a Babylock Espire, which I've had for about 8 years and have had no problem with it. I love. BabyLock machines and feel that the machine you are looking at is well worth the money!

I would say go get it. I have a BL Ellure that I purchased almost 6 years ago. The machine is incredible. It does everything I need and have never had a problem with it and I do a lot of sewing. I do have it checked, oiled, etc once a year and that saves me a lot of aggravation. Never have a problem. I wish everything I bought held up as well. I also have the small BL that I can take with me but it does not have all the options. I would grab it.

WOW! Check out the one for sale on ebay..they say it's about 5 yrs old. The sewing table coming with your machine was almost $200. Go for it!

I think the espire is the one I have - name changed to symphony so whichever that is. it's big and heavy and I seldom use any of the fancy stitches (actually not sure I've used any but the straight stitch...) but I do like the machine. I've been using a Janome Harmony for taking around to sewins but it needs a trip to the machine guy for a good cleaning so the Babylock is now in it's tote. At home I've been trying to get around to the old Singers I got from my mom and currently a singer 15-91 and 301 are being used as well as a Kenmore 1040 I got recently.

not familiar with the one you're looking at but I've been happy with my babylock- for new machines I'd probably go with janome or babylock

I believe the Serenade came out spring of 2011. I bought one for me and one for my oldest DD just a couple months after it came out.
