    Default Using a binding foot??

Has anyone used a binding foot on their machine to sew their binding on, and if so, how do you like it and how do you do the corners???? and do you have any tips for use.

Most binding feet are made for attaching binding to clothing -- for example, to finish armholes in a child's sleeveless dress. For that reason, most of them do not work well for adding quilting binding. This is definitely true of generic binders and also the binders made for older machines (such as my Bernina 1230, which is over 15 years old). I don't know about the more modern machines.

Here's a link to Heirloom Creations tutorial for using a Bernina binder attachment putting binding on a quilt. I received one for Christmas and so far have only done a table runner. It does take a little getting used to but I'm looking forward to not having sore fingers anymore .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyUBTitMGVE

I thought a binding foot would be the cat's meow (do they say that anymore?) but it really doesn't take much to sew it on by hand. I like that process.

I have a binding foot and made a youtube video on how to use it. I know it has helped others. I'm not sure if I can link it or not but I'll give it a go since it isn't something I can really imbed here considering how long it it.

I use my binder attachment a lot because I personally detest hand sewing. I avoid it like the plague. I know others enjoy the hand sewing process but not me. For those of us that don't a binding attachment might be the way to go. Before I got that I did the glue binding method which was fabulous although a bit messy. I can whip out a binding in less than half the time as the glue binding method now.
