The pattern is called Florentine Fantasy, and it's from Dragonladyquilts.com. Here's another version that my friend made:

I just saw a quilt in a magazine that immediately made me think of your oriental fabrics - I don't know the name of the quilt, and I think the magazine was Quilt Magazine Aug/Sept. I've seen the same pattern that is available for free here:

The version pictured in the magazine was beautiful, it was made of batiks in blues and used a much larger block size, like 8 or 10 inches, which shows off the gorgeous fabrics. It would definitely set off your oriental fabrics, especially if you used a beige or cream neutral!

That is a gorgeous quilt....I think that is the first dresden plate that I really like!
Thankyou...I really like orientals, the colours are so rich and brillant. I only wish I had more of them (LOL).

Thank you, everyone, for all the beautiful ideas. It will take me awhile to decide which one to use, and then awhile to get the top completed. If I knew how, I would post the end product then. The knowledge and helpfulness here on the QB always bring amazement!

Thanks ladies for sharing your pics I have finished an oriental quilt and am now looking for geisha ladies to do another oriental quilt. The fabrics are so rich. Love the colors in Peckish's first one--how vibrant!
