I am seeking ideas for quilt patterns using the oriental style fabrics I have. Most have a metallic thread running through, and there are shapes like lanterns and fans. They are dark reds, greens, and blues. Any ideas on what would show them to great advantage? Thanks

Well, the first thing that came to my mind was a chinese lantern quilt. They are very pretty and show the fabrics off in an interesting way, and it kind of keeps the asian theme going.

Or this one? I can't remember what this block is called, maybe someone else can help me out. It might not showcase the fabrics in the way you want, though.

This is a quilt that I did using the oriental fabrics. The fans in the corners are actually appliqued.

I actually made a dresden plate using orientals. While it may not have shown off the focus fabric, the orientals were the focal point.
