You are so funny. After I give mine away I accept some people won't love them as much as other. I can live with that.

I find that I don't give away most of what I make. If made to give away or for charity, then I'm good with whatever they do with it, but the things I make from my own need to create usually stay with me.
I guess someone will get it all when I Pass On and then I won't care anyway!!

I made a quilt for a friend with a new baby. I purposely did not put a hanger on the back. When I gave it to her I explained that this was for the baby, not her. It is not for the wall, it is to be used. I told her if he wrecked it, I would make another. She put it on his bed, like a topper. He can't play with it. (Both baby and quilt are now 4 years old).

Oh well, I must admit that whenever I visit her or her mother I get a mini quilt show of all of the beautiful antiques made by various ancestors, they come out of a closet. I guess at least this one made ot to a bed!

I crocheted dish cloth that is the shape of a flower and gave to my BF. The next time I went to see her there it was in her living room with a candle sitting in the middle of it! She thought it was a doily. :-D

I'm sorry you had this bad experience. I only make things for people that appreciate them and use them for what they're intended for! Some people don't know what they have!
