For me, if the directional print is a small enough piece, it doesn't bother me if it's not going the 'right' way. On the other hand, if it's being used for a larger background piece or border I would have to have it facing the 'correct' direction. Just dealt with this for a baby quilt recently. During layout/construction I kept asking myself - why did I do this to myself?

Thankfully my word print was small lettering on a white background, and from a short distance you can't even tell what it is, let alone what the direction is. I'm OK with this quilt, but if the wording was much bigger I don't know if I could do it!
