Sorry to hear that it dropped that way. Not time to panic however. The stain may be a big nothing. I would try a Mr. Clean magic Cleaning sponge. They work great on things like this .

    Default Update

My Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sheets finally came with my Walmart order a few days ago and used one on my iron. It worked like a charm! There are just a couple of burn spots left that I know will come off eventually, but to get the majority of the stain off was much easier than I thought.

I was originally going to just use one and put the rest in the kitchen, I'm actually so impressed with how well they cleaned off my iron that I tore a couple of sheets off, put them in the kitchen and I'm leaving the rest of them in my sewing cabinet! I do intend on getting a bottle of Barkeeper's Helper soon just as a backup, but I'm completely happy with the magic eraser sheets.

Thank you, ladies, for all the suggestions! It's a relief to have all that gunk off of my iron.
