very excited!

A few years ago I was making a special quilt for my first grandchild. I think I went to about 20 fabric stores (shop hop) until I found all the right fabrics for what I wanted to do. I was very excited to find them all.

Definitely NOT weird! I am making 4 identical Christmas throws for family members in memory of our grandmother. They are based on the vintage postcard fabric made by Kay England a number of years ago. My design needs more of one fabric than I anticipated and I was heartbroken as I wanted the fronts to all be alike. I was "over the moon" with joy when I found more online. Our grandmother used old greeting cards and typed verses, sayings or short poems on the back with an old portable typewriter then assembled them into books for each of us. The fabric brought this thoughtful gift back to mind.

I hope you ordered the rest of that fabric - you know there's a perfect 2nd project just waiting for it!! And no, you are not weird - we all understand the excitement, the rush and the high we get from this beautifully creative hobby we all share!

Not weird at all. Part of the fun and challenge of quilting is "hunting down" the perfect fabric. When you've found what you want, and sometimes it can be very time-consuming, the feeling is pretty sweet.
