Here's what I would do: I would not use the bright blue and light blue squares, but keep the rest - that way you'll end up with all "neutral" tones which will go really well together. I would alternate the "two squares" blocks with the "three squares" blocks to make a somewhat consistant pattern, but leave the colours random.

I think it will look great (very modern!) when it's finished and you should keep going!

I have to say I agree with Jan. If you look at the pillow it alternates the two squares and three square blocks. That is what catches your eye. Also, taking out the bright blue and the light blue will let you eye flow over the quilt easier. Changing these two little things will help the quilter's eye you have and your daughter will LOOOOOVE IT!

These are the colors I have in my living room. I haven't made a new throw to go in there yet but your idea has got me excited to start checking out a patterns.

If she doesn't want it, I do. It's really nice. You did a great job and was it worth all the fretting?

I think you have a great start. You have done well taking something you know she likes and making something that goes well with it. I have not read through all the comments so may be duplicating someone's idea.

I do think the lighter color and blue do stick out. I noticed in the pillow that they keep a like color theme in a strip. You may try laying out your blocks with similar colors in a row. That way all the lighter and brighter blue would have a unifing look in a row vice standing out in a more muted group. I do like the idea of a unifing sashing color.

Just MHO. It is very nice.

I didn't see this when you were asking for help, but I see you did what I would have done--lose the blues and follow the pattern of the pillow- in the layout. It is gorgeous! If shse doesn't like it, it will match my room. LOL!
