I like the blocks. I think they go well together by themselves.

If your daughter likes the muted colors, the ones you have are kind of bright and not the same "kind" of her colors.

Sort of like putting hot pink with dusty rose. Pretty colors separately, but they don't bring out the best in each other.

How about having your daughter pick out the fabrics she wants and go from there? That way she can't complain about them.

I like the colors and blocks that you've done so far...It's hard to tell from my computer whether the blue matches or just blends....Keep up the good work!

Personally, I think it looks great the way you've started out......I'm going to post a picture of the one I made for my DD's wedding.... so you can see all the colours I plunked in on it....and everyone loves it.

I think it looks good ... the one thing I did with my quilt was take a step back and squint at it to see what jumped out at me too much (kinda like squinting at christmas tree lights to make them blury if you know what I mean?) ... I did it in the pic you posted and as others suggested - the light/bright blue is doing that for me. Again - the coloring may be off ... but maybe stick to smaller squares with that blue if you're in love with it?

    Hope it helps!

I think you are on the right track although I would take out the bright blue also..it seems to leap out at you and doesn't really match the pillow (at least on my monitor). Just keep going, it will all fall into place and I don't think it will look jumbled when you get it done.

Thimble...that quilt looks humongous! And beautiful!

I like it! I don't see it as a hodge podge. Of course, I'm a child ofthe 80's, so I probably shouldn't be consulted on color and fashion. We wore parachute pants for pity's sake!

I think your pattern looks like the pillow - and it looks good - I would be happy to get it myself - you are very inventive to put together a design and all

I like the colors. Maybe she wants a more structured design. Yours is more scrappy, and I love the scrappy look. All the quilts I have made for my kids were of fabrics they picked out and we worked out a pattern on my EQ6 that they liked so it was alot easier for me. (I hope you get EQ6 for Christmas. It's so much fun to use. )
