i agree with amma. that darker/brighter blue is great for a scrappy, but not subtle enough for the more neutral look your daughter seems to like.

whatever you do, i can't wait to see it done. what size are you shooting for?

I agree with this idea. Eliminate the bright and light blue and it will be perfect! Very understated elegance.

I'd use all the colors! The rug looked so familiar - my daughter has the same rug in her home!

I think it will look great (very modern!) when it's finished and you should keep going!

I agree. The light and bright aren't quite right with the others, I find it very challenging to create quilts myself but you are on the right path. It will look very modern.

I really like Jan's suggestion. I think if you followed them you would have a color palette that is closest to what your daughter likes -- and that's the whole point, right?

    Diana,
I would alternate the 'two' block with the 'three' block as was suggested earlier. I'd keep all the colors you have. Put a print in the borders that has all the colors in it. You are doing a very nice job.

I like your hodge podge --just might add more of the colors in the rug but leave in the colors you already have I think they will add just a dash of color . I think you did a great job of making a pattern like the pillow

Thank you again, all of you!!! :-) :-)
I'm just now starting to sandwhich it, and am about ready to toss Kitty outside! He's grabbing pins out of my container, running and sliding on the material.... They're such a joy sometimes! lol!!!! Sure can tell where the saying 'curiousity killed the cat' came from! lol!!!

There's a few spots where I wish I would have done better on placement, but it is as it is. Better finished then perfect......

I got the blocks done for my step-daughter's quilt, and DH just squared them all up for me! :D Just got to sew them together and put the border on.... But I wanted to get this one loaded in my new frame, and see how I can turn myself into two people! lol!!!!!! I'm still thinking/hoping I can get both done by Sunday....
    Thank you again!!!! :-)
