What is vet soap and where can it be found? I read where they were taking marks off there quilt and they used vet soap.

I don't have vet soap, but I do have Orvus soap. It can be purchased at most pet or farm supply businesses.

I use Orvus also - purchased from tack shop - farm supply shop.

Never heard of it but I'm interested! Do you rub it on beforehand or use it in the washer? I have marked a quilt with yellow Chaco Liner then read that yellow is the hardest to get out

It is kind of a paste. I dilute it when I add it to my wash, but if you are trying to get marker off I think I would rub it on the stain.

I have used Orvus for years and it is fabulous. Some quilt shops sell it under a name I can't remember right now (quilt wash or something) and it costs so much more. I also got mine in a gallon bottle at a farm supply shop (wasn't very expensive and it lasts forever) especially in the larger size. It was originally intended for horses I believe. You do have dilute it with water as it is thick.

I use Orvus it has to be diluted because it is almost a paste. We used it to wash show calves and show horses with it. You can get it at your local farmer's co-op. It works really great and is very gentle.

I have also used Orvus for years and love it. Very good for quilts as it contains no phosphates.

I use Orvus soap to wash dogs and my sister always used it on her 4-H lambs before the show at the fall fair. If it has been sitting for a while, it tends to separate and will look pasty white on the bottom and have a yellow liquid near the top. Just stir or shake and it will be back to its thick form. You will need to dilute it and it smells very fresh and clean.
