I'm thinking of getting a Viking 835 sapphire Does anyone have this machine? I'm going to look at one when I get home on Monday and was wondering if its a good quilting machine :). What is the throat space measurement?

I have the Viking 855 and I love it! I've had it since February. It has some extra stitches and one more alphabet, that is the only difference I think. If I'd had the money I would have purchased the 875 but I'm no worse for the wear right now.

    Go for it!

I have the Sapphire 830 (previous model). Love it! It takes a little getting used to with everything automatic, but I am very happy with mine. If you get the chance to take lessons from the seller, take them. It's helpful!

Awesome! Thanks so much everyone sounds like this is a good one. Yes they do offer free classes and 1 year warrenty so that's good. Does this model come with the 1/4" foot, walking foot and free motion foot? I have all of those with my Brother (low shank) can I just use those?

It doesn't come with a 1/4 foot, BUT you can change the programming to the Quilting menu and if you use the suggested foot, it will be 1/4 once the needle moves over.

See if the dealer will throw in the walking foot with the interchangeable feet, or at least give you a discount. It's worth it! You can get a stitch in the ditch foot that snaps into the walking foot. Also, this walking foot works with decorative stitches and reverse, not just straight like most do.

I have the Viking 875. I love it. I bought the 1/4" foot with guide, walking foot and free motion spring foot separately. You won't be able to use your Brother supplies. Enjoy sewing on your new machine. It is nice.
