    Unhappy Viking Diamond

I have a Viking Diamond sewing machine. Had it for about 3 years now and paid 7500 for it. I keep haveing prb. with it. Does anyone else have this machine? Do you have any prb with it? Right now it makes a noise like a fan belt when I sew sometimes. I was told it was because I was sewing thick fabric (quilting) I think its kinda tacky for a machine of this price to squeak like this. Also the thread keeps comming off the uptake level

I would contact your dealer right away, and if that doesn't get you help I would contact Viking directly. We have to be able to expect that machines in that price range will work well for years and years as long as we maintain them correctly!!!

I've also had mine for about 3 years, no problems at all. My sister has had hers for a year without any issues. I sew lots of bags from denim and heavy home dec fabric without a problem. Also use it for stitch in the ditch quilting. I will say that I had one spool of thread that would not work with it, it kept coming out of the uptake, but when I switched threads, the problem was gone.
Is there another dealer in your area you could try?

I realize that it is hard for the fix it quy to hear it because it doesn't do it all the time but too much. I have made a video with my phone while it was doing it to take to him. Hopefully this will help him to hear what I am talking about better. I don't want something to be wrong and me using it make it worse. I had my frist viking for 30 years and no prb. I got the Designer 1 and loved it, the then the SE. I just feel that something is off. Thanks for the replys
I have had it serviced twice already and in to have it checked several times.

If your dealer is the one telling you that's normal then you need to find another one. If you contact Viking they can recommend someone in your area. I'm not sure on the Diamond but even my Viking #1 had a sensor presser foot and would adjust for thicker fabrics; my Ruby has it so I know they are still doing it. Have you changed your neelde and oiled it(if needed) I know that my machine makes quite a noise when the needle starts getting dual. Also use a vacumm and blow out the bottom. My Ruby says don't blow into it because you can make the dirt go into the machine deeper.

I have a diamond also. I have not had any problems. I would try taking it in and see if the problem can be found!!!

I have a friend that complains about the same issue-the thread coming off the take up lever. With hers when it starts doing it, it needs servicing to adjust.
