Wow has this been a weekend for me.

So my friend bought the Bernina 440QE for "us" to use. Nice, well she was over and we played with it alittle and then I packed it all up because she has a class on it this Wednesday.

Anyway she brought over her old machine that I thought was a Singer, I thought it would be nice to ahve if any other friends wanted to come over and piece with us for fun.

Well it turns out it's a Vicking Interlde 435. She said, well you can have this old machine, what am I going to do with 2 machines. It doesn't have a 1/4 foot or the walking foot, but I was thinking of getting the 1/4 foot to see if I like sewing on it better than my Kenmore...what do you think? Is this a better machine? Should I invest the $100 for the walking foot? I will be quilting most of them on her new machine with the stitch regulator. But wondered what your thoughts were?

Good to know, I will grab one and try it out. The first thing I've noticed is it doesn't seem to start slowly...it kinda pauses and then doesn't go more until you press alittle harder on the foot pedal, then it takes off. The stiches seem nice, but I should probably have someone service it

I also have a Viking and love it. Lots of features (some I've never explored yet). Mine only likes Coats & Clark or ConnectingThreads thread-knots and skips with the expensive brands. Good luck with it; the more you use it the more you'll like it.
