I have a Singer 27 treadle and a Kingston that I don't know how old it is -- but it's old. I don't think it's too old because the feed dogs can be dropped. That's the machine I work on the most eventho I have a Singer CE 250 that works just fine also. Still practicing with the treadle rhythm...

I have a Singer 15-91 that I bought because of this board. I've followed Billy's tutorials, ripped her apart, cleaned and even got her back together and working! I found a Fleetwood in a cabinet that my Singer fits in (we won't go into what I had to do to make it fit) and all I have left to do is get a 1/4 in foot and fiddle some more with the tension. I plan on using it to make the Farmer's Wife Quilt and doing it as a QAYG.

All I ever use are treadle powered machines, I do have a few with tails but they are just to look at or sew a button on. BkinCO will tell you I have an aversion to electricity hence my love for the treadles.

I have a huge quilting table with a treadle mounted under it and I can put one of several machines I want into it and go! I normally use my Japanese 15 (Universal) for my go to machine and then I have an array of Singers I can use lie my 1910 9W, 1910,1911 Model 27's, 1900 Model 24, 1921,1926,1932 Model 66's, 1926 Model 128.

That is what I have in my studio not counting whats in my house!

I love thoses vintage machines. I have a Singer, 221 feather weight, 301 and 500. I also picked up at an auction this weekend a pink Atlas and a green Montgomery Ward. Can't beat those vintage machines for piecing. I don't think I will ever go back to a modern machine after the bran new Singer I bought last year fell apart. All those plastic gears just fell apart after only using it for 10 months.

I have my husbands greatgrandmothers treadle that is in amazing condition,it's a singer, 2 featherweights, about 6 hand cranks 2 99's and a few others. I love to sew on the treadle. I want to start using the hand cranks. Does anyone have tips to using them?

I love vintage machines. I'm afraid though that when I put a stop to buying more fabric I transferred my collecting lust to machines. I have a 1953 Singer 201 cabinet, 1947 Featherweight, an Elna Grasshopper, Singer 301, Singer 401, and Bernina 530-2 Record in a cabinet. Hope to find a treadle in good shape sometime soon. Got the bug pretty bad, but find I love to sew on vintage machines far more than on my 10 year old Husqvarna Lily 545, although it's wonderful for lots of things. I've noticed that it's harder to sneak into the house with a cabinet machine than with a bag of fabric!! LOL Cheers!
