Vintage sewing machines turned into "tractors"

i bet he is using the machines that don't work. i think it's cute... how adorable would those look in a sewing room? I want the green one :) Buying it like that is probably the only way I'd honestly feel comfortable buying a machine that old because I'd be afraid it wouldn't work and be a waste of money but this is just for display.

They are unique. Lot of work in them, yes, makes me a bit shakey to see a featherweight sitting there but look at the bright side, yes there is one. Our machines will be worth a lot more if there are fewer in the world and that will make our children happy.

I seriously doubt the maker of these does it only with non-working machines. He probably performs this mutilation on any antique head he can get his hands on no matter if it works or doesn't work. He most likely doesn't even bother to find out if it works. To each his own though. I think it is a travesty but others may find them charming and cute. I guess better this then in a landfill.

I am hoping that he only uses machines that no longer work. If not he is cheating himself. If he is selling them for $80.00, he could get more for them without doing any work. I wonder if he knows what they are worth. Also, how much is he paying for them before he mutates them?
