I glue basted a quilt, finished assembling one of my mystery quilts, and finished sewing down the binding on a third today. Lots to do, but I'm working on it!

This morning, I will be loading my Christmas wall hanging in the frames and at night I will be hand sewing on my Hexi quilt.

Think I'm in if I can keep my attention span going for the weekend.. I got this idea to make all the nieces, and nephews throws for Chanukah.. Thank G-d it's in the end of Dec.. Three are complete. One other top done. One other 1/2 done, and one that hasn't been started.. Then if I am really ambitious I will make two more for my sister in laws niece, and nephew who I have watched grow up.. I'm making them as string quilts, and scrap quilts.. I have all the supplies, so no need to shop for anything.. Ughhh.. Maybe need more thread.. Can I do it? Yup!!!

I guess I'm kind of joining in on the quilting weekend as our small (7 of us) quilt group is getting together for a quilt day and potluck. We do this twice a year and get together at one of the gal's church so we really have room to spread out. It's kind of neat as the church is an older quaint church in the country. It wouldn't work for me quilting at home as deer hunting season opens here today and hubby & son hunt on our land so are in and out most of the day so I've left them "food" to survive and I'm out of here. I will be working on a string quilt using stash. Will check in tonight to see what everyone is doing. Enjoy your day!

I will be spending time with my mom and finishing a baby quilt and working on another which is a printed panel and I will be using the utility stitch on it. I will check in tomorrow to see the progress on all of the wonderful projects!

PatPitter - enjoy your Leah Day quilting class. I've taken her classes and now feel quite comfortable FMQ any size quilt. Enjoy.

I've got that one on the old bucket list. As for this weekend (which is no "holiday weekend" for retired people), I'll be trying to chomp away on a stack of three UFOs....tying a tee shirt quilt which was made before I knew about/and how to stabilize the shirts before assembling; making a sandwich with the baby quilt, and sewing binding on the URR quilt. I know I won't get it all but I can dream....

And jtquilts: what is "the utility stitch"?
