Your butterfly quilt is beautiful. I too have been wondering what everyone's been working on in this heat. Just pressed another stacked nickel lap quilt, using a moda charm pack. Works up so quick and easy and makes great gifts. Quilting has saved my sanity in this long, horrifically hot summer. It keeps me focused and involved instead of physically feeling miserable.

Glad you were able to get the fabric you needed. I usually over buy just in case and use the rest in scrappy stuff. The butterflies are beautiful and gonna be a great quilt. I have one assembled with butterflies but they need the black bodies and antennae--of course, I spaced that out. How will you quilt your "butterflies"?

I finished the top. No idea how I am going to FMQ the butterflies...also debating on using the alpa batting that I bought for this quilt. Has anyone else used that kind of batting?

Never used that batting..Love your border fabric!! I have 2 more squares to hand quilt on the baby quilt!! Then I just bring the extra back around for the binding.,..Looks like I may get to prepping scraps today!! Another hour or 2 and the quilt will be done..the bib and burpers take no time at all! Hope everyone else is having a good day!!

Sounds like you had a good day. I ended up reading a book and fell asleep for a few hours.

Binding the baby quilt..never got to the bib etc, because ended up teaching my DD how to make pillowcase dresses..She got 3 done for her youngest 3 kids!! May cut down scraps later after i finish binding..I spent a day buried in a book last week..sometimes you need a day like that to decompress!!

I'm such an addict of butterflies! Your quilt is lovely and I do like the way you've placed the squares. Can't wait to see the finished product.
