I, too, did not get as much done as I had hoped. By the time I finished the shopping, the painting, and assembling the dresser, and moving the furniture around in my mother's room, I only had enough energy left to cut the new fabrics I bought for my son's shadowbox quilt, and put the shadows on one side of the blocks. Tomorrow, though, I think I will call a "time-out" on working on her room so I can spend the day sewing. I really want to have this floppy complete this weekend!

Earlier this week I finished my quilt top. Now I have to piece my backing fabric today and cut down my batting. Later this week I'll trim each so that they are "square" and then I can give it all to my friend who will quilt it.

One of the best parts of VQW is seeing all the beautiful projects in the works! I managed to get Talking Turkey sandwiched today, I am using a pre-stenciled backing for the first time. Hope it turns out ok! I used 505 spray to baste it in spite of warnings that it could cause the blue ink to disappear but it doesn't seem to have any negative effect so far.
The plan is to use the couching foot and a variegated yarn on the back - a busy quilt deserves a busy/crazy back too, doesn't it? But if I don't like the look of it I will go to plan B, which would be a neutral thread front and back.

    Today, I get to sew.

cashs_mom, understand not getting much sleep. Gat about 2 hours, then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Finally, slept until 10:30.

DH gets home from work late & I stay up to end the day with a talk. So very late night most nights.

Wish I could have regular daylight hours.

Patrice- I hope things go better for you tonight. It's tough when our furbabys get old.

    Hugs,
    Rob

Yesterday I completed 1/2 of step 2 mystery train ride. I sewed together 9 5” squares for a quick small valentine table runner. I put together my small ufo heart Twilling project. Later tonight I will sandwich these and 1 other UFO’s and quilt them tomorrow. But during the day time i’m Going to finish going through some boxes etc and finish counting UFO’s. Which was on my list of things to do today. I put BHMQ quilt project on the side until next week. I want to get these projects done 1st.

I had a pretty good night last night and so I decided to get a couple small projects out of the way before I start on the next larger one.

I made this Tablet Holder from a pattern I got at Quilt Festival. I made the tablet size, but my tablet is small. I probably could have made the iPhone size. There were so easy and fun, I'm thinking about making some for Christmas gifts next year.

I also made a bag to hold my cute little Mustang mug my husband gave me for Christmas. Its going to go to car shows so I like to have something a bit padded to protect things. I also hate having to wrap everything at the end of the day to pack and go home. I've been making quilted bags to fit everything from this mustang fabric.
