Virtual Quilting Weekend--5/22 to 5/25
#41
I'm working on getting a quilt loaded on the HQ. Still getting use to doing it on this frame - I could get one loaded pretty easily on the old one. But this is only the second one I've loaded, so I expect it will get easier after I do a few more.

I have several projects going at my main sewing machine but have decided to work on a Bible cover with handles for the Bible I carry into church. I need to also add some little pockets for a pen and a Sharpie gel highlighter.
Everyone looks busy and hopeful for the VQW.
Cindi, I am sure your quilting will change the look of your quilt.
Macybaby, love your butterfly quilt and your vintage machines!
Cannyquilter, I find that 15 minute rule really helps me.
Krista, gorgeous blue quilt.
It would be so fun to visit the Conservatory, Retired. Thanks for the photos.
Macybaby, our hen that resides in the barn is setting on a new batch of eggs. The last batch never hatched and she finally gave up. Meanwhile, DH has been building moveable poultry wagons for our turkeys and chickens. We set 12 - 8 week old turkeys out in their wagon last week. The second chicken wagon is ready to go when the Giant Jersey chicks are big enough so they can't get through the wire. They will be feasting on alfalfa and grass, oh, and bugs in our pasture soon.

I wanted to do this as well, but the weather is so good .... I just had to get out in the yard and do the gardening. I have plenty of quilting to work on......I am getting my ufo's done though!
Happy Memorial Day to all of you, where ever you are!

Looking forward to joining in the fun...1st on list is to finish three 9-1/2" x 18-1/2" rectangles for my Giant Swoon Quilt, also working on a tote bag for my friend's charity group that assists domestic violence victims ...the bags are for the case workers. She gave me pattern instructions..but not pictures, fingers crossed that my bag will pass inspection as I would like, to make one a month for this group. Happy sewing all.

Judy in Phx, AZ: I just started on my rectangles for the Swoon. I needed to finish cutting my secondary color. I still need to cut some of the bigger squares for the primary color and then more 3 1/2" background and some bigger ones. Hopefully I will get to that yet this weekend.
I really like everyone's projects. Thanks for taking the time to share them.
I finished my 2 HST's for a HST Challenge. They are square but I didn't press them after I trimmed them to 9 1/2" so they look like they have uneven edges.

What beautiful blocks, Connie! Are you doing a sampler?
Kathy, that is a great score you found at a yard sale. I keep hoping to find a quilter unloading but usually all I find is old clothes and junk! Good yard sale!
I got most of my Disappearing Hourglass blocks together... maybe about 10 to finish up. It does go together fast but I'm so uninspired by this quilt! It's a commissioned quilt and I really don't like the solid colors. I'm bored to death with it. I just hope the young man who gets it will love it.

I hope to finish piecing a top from a class I took last month at my guild. Just putting the sashing on, but the border is super pieced! Wednesday is my next guild meeting and I'd like to be up there for show and tell with the rest of the ladies that took the class! It always seems to be many months before I finish. Maybe too many classes to keep caught up lol! I picked up a piece of floral Sateen for a skirt I need to make by July, a group of us are going to a time share for 4 days to do all different projects. We'd like to do a cutwork garment (on the emb machine), so I need to wash the fabric and get it cut out, too.
Dunster, you need an English paper piecing project you can take along in a little bag and stash when you need to hide it! I'm loving my contemporary hexies!!
