As I'm just getting back into sewing after having rotor cuff surgery in late January I decided to try out this embroidery design set for a DWR. As my new little kitten who is no longer little at 9 months old damaged my lap quilts I use on my recliner (made from scraps back then) I decided to pull out my blues and reds scraps as most of the pieces are just 2 x 2.5. I'm using a deep red constant and a navy blue constant in the sections needed but the rings are all scraps. Also using a nice white muslin for the background which I have a bolt of so figure why not. Anyway the blocks take 1.5 hr. to sew each block and I need 48. Of course I realized after I started I didn't have enough for the border I wanted to put on it..........yes I like border on my quilts but I did have enough of the constant red and navy to make the binding with piping so that's been set aside. So far I have 6 blocks done. The designs are by Ann Goodesign, I picked them up when I got my Viking Epic machine a couple years ago.

I'm in this weekend. My goal is to put together this queen size top. It's my biggest quilt yet and a two year old UFO.

Hi Rob, I don't post often but your messages always seem to catch my eye, maybe because we seem to have the same interest or I see we have some of the vintage machines in common, I would love to see pictures of your thread painting & Helen Godden, I just stumbled across her on utude just a few days ago...what a great artist she is.

I am in. With hubby home I seem to be in my sewing room a lot more-yes told him we need to social distance...lol. I have been working on my ever ending pile of ufo's. I swear they multiply over night. I bought the Accuquilt cutting machine a few weeks ago but told myself no playing with new toys until I complete some ufo's so far thats working.

I am making progress on the Drunkards Path that I started a couple weeks ago I am tickled that I will soon have a picture for everyone here. I am now sewing together the top. I am so excited but I needed a break for a few minutes. It is about 2/3 of the way sewn together at this moment. Maybe about 30 more minutes of sewing. This is a pattern I will definitely be making again using a different layout each time. There are so many ways to show this block off! Virtual Weekend here I come again!

I am making rag quilts for my 5 grandchildren to use as picnic blankets or keep in their car for "just in case". I was given tons of blue jeans and my friend came over a long time ago and we cut up squares and then I had a friend move quite a distance away and she gave me a lot of flannel. I have 3 quilts done and hope to work on #4 this weekend. They are pretty easy to do except for the clipping of the seams.

Checking back in to see everyone's work. Just wonderful! I have managed to finish 3 of the Farmer's Wife blocks so far. I will probably get a couple more done, but I have grandkids hanging out here today so progress is slow.
