Yes, Dedemac, I cut glass for stained glass windows. My glass stash is similar to a fabric stash! Plus, I have to deal with/organize glass scraps just like quilting! My workroom is half sewing, half stained glass studio. So little time, so much colored glass!

Finished a small disappearing 9 patch (36"). I think I would like it to be larger because I have a backing in mind that is 44 x 56. To the scrap bins!


Also processed a very old UFO. I made some blocks.(7) When I first started quilting - intending them to be placemats for a cousin. Then she got married and so I set them aside for a wedding quilt instead. She loved it. Perfect. Much better gift.

Fast forward to most recent Projects Linus meeting and someone donated 2 yards of wineglass fabric. Lovely but NOT FOR KIDS. So I took the UFO blocks - which also happened to have wine glasses! - and used the new fabric as backing for some trivet- hot pads. Used the inside out method for fast finish. And a little stitch in ditch to secure.

Have 1.more to finish and then I'll mail to various people

Well, Ta-Da for me I finished the baby quilt top. Lots of time with my friend Jack and then measuring, but oh, I like it so much better. More friendly and child like. The fabric is "Dream Big Little One" from Henry Glass and is all forest animals tumbled with little stars and moons with the same animals in a Noah's Ark for the border print. I have just enough of the border print to make a companion quilt for another family or a PL quilt.

This is for a family of outdoor folk. Mum and Dad love to hunt and fish so forest animals fill the bill. Don't know if the wee little one is a boy or girl. This family is "old school" and finds out at birth.

At the moment my glass stash has to be in a different room from my sewing stash. But I understand the storage of scraps, I try to buy only for each project but can't seem to get rid of small pieces.

We're having our asphalt drive resealed, and we can' t use the drive way for a couple days. I'll be stranded in the house!! So I'll be in the sewing room working on childrens' quilt tops and pillowcases for charity. Having realized that I won't be able to use all my panels for quilts, I've turned some into burrito pillowcases for a childrens hospital here in Iowa. Some are so cute! Plus I want to start selling off some scraps and or yardage and will go through fabric to set aside for that. Always something to keep me busy.
