Virtual Quilting Weekend--Aug 11-13, 2023
Welcome to VQW! Next month's VQW will be September 8-10.
I started my work early today and prepped a few tops for quilting. My goal is to catch up on the charity tops this weekend and clean the room afterwards. It definitely needs it! So what are your plans this weekend?
Any questions, please ask

Good evening everyone.
Friday I plan to quilt a top and clear off my sewing table at the same time organize this area. On Saturday square 42 blocks and then sew the blocks together and finally sew on borders. Sunday square 2 quilts which need to have binding machine sewn. And if I have time set up a kid top on the LA and quilt Monday. Oh I forgot, the KC Chiefs starts their pre-game games on Sunday. So I will have time to pin the binding on my quilts. 😊 that’s all for me this weekend. What doesn’t get done will be worked on next week. Have fun.

- Hope to get more of the big stitch done on this project , it has been too hot for weeks but today I used a lap tray with legs to keep the quilt up off my lap. Hopefully I can get this finished before too long!

This weekend:
1. Finish mystery quilt, choose back and prep for layering.
2. Choose back for small "Plaidish" quilt and layer
3. Add binding to crumb quilt.
4. Add to the ongoing 2.5" quilt.
Fingers crossed that I don't get caught running down any new rabbit trails. 🐇🐇🐇

It's a busy weekend for the Hubs and I but I'm hoping to get the pieces for a table runner cut out and continue sewing HST blocks together. I found the large bag of HSTs when cleaning out an area in my studio. Well to be honest, I wasn't so much cleaning as trying to find something. I never found what I was looking for but did find the bag of HST and thought it must be a sign I am supposed to sew them together.

Continue working on a quilt for my daughters best friends husband, and deciding on border for a baby quilt for the same friend who is expecting a little girl in January. My daughter will be the Godmother and she is so excited!

I am determined to try out rulers with my sit down LA. If good enough, I will use on current project.
I'm still plugging away slowly on my color wash quilt blocks. I want to sort the squared-up ones into color groups and trim the new additions.
And the current heat wave has me thinking about the temperature quilt that is in the designing stage!
First, as always, is a drive into town to check on my mom and brother.
