Virtual Quilting Weekend--July 1 - July 4, 2016
#52
After a couple of false starts with my customer quilts (one backing not pieced, and one too small) I decided it was time for a change and did some work on my miniature Giraffe Abstractions quilt. Working this one from the top down, so I can look at his cute face

I love all of the pictures here. I probably won't do any sewing this weekend as I am traveling. I have been in Myrtle Beach all week and am flying home tonight. I have a family picnic all day tomorrow. By then I will probably be exhausted. I will just have to check back here at all of the gorgeous projects. Good work everyone. I love the abstractions giraffe. I have been trying to come up with something for a baby quilt. This just might be it. I will find out the sex of the baby tomorrow. I love the giraffe.

Nice progress everyone!
I've been too busy sewing to take pictures, I'll see about getting some when I get a few more rows complete. I had high hopes of being much farther along at this point, so I'm heading to my sewing room to get back to work. These applique rows can take a lot longer than the pieced ones.
I had visions of having the quilt done so I could take it in on Tuesday, I'm thinking that is not going to happen!

Wow, some really beautiful work done. I love looking at the pictures. Yesterday I made a "fold and stitch blossom" wreath by poor house. It was a lot of fun and I really like it better than the regular "fold n stitch wreath by them. This is made with hexies instead of squares.

Well, I think I can finally post on here. I tried yesterday but computer locked up each time I tried! I haven't been working on the BOMs blocks I was going to but made significant progress on two different quilts. I hope to have both tops ready for sandwiching by the end of the day. They won't be quilted yet for a couple weeks but at least they'll be ready. There are so many amazing projects on here, I have to keep reminding myself that I don't NEED more projects to do. Of course, that reminder didn't work too well at Quilt Festival in Shipshewana last week either!

I finished one top today. The second one is on hold until I get some fabric to finish the border. So I will head upstairs for the night and study the many other projects to see what I want to work on tomorrow. See you then
