After all the work making my Shakespeare in the Park it sat there waiting for a binding. Well I got to it this weekend yay!!!!
Patrice, so happy to hear about your new baby!!!! My oldest son told me once that the best way to honor your beloved deceased pet is to adopt another one who needs a home. I think he's absolutely right.

I have only read about tyhis so now I am joining. We do leave on the 4th for 2 days at my SIL and son's lake cabins. But yesterday I did start on my oldest brother's 70th birthday quilt. He is a car buff and has had several vintage cars. He started restoring but now just trades up to his fancy. I have collected material for sometime for this quilt but just found the Vintage man's fabric line so will add that too. I am waiting for the mailman to bring it. My first gifted quilt was to my DIL 14 years ago, my second was to this brother's wife. She died at age 54 of ovarian and breast cancer. He has hinted over the years that he never has received a quilt. My other brother's have received them for their 40th wedding anniversaries. I want to plan my
Vintage Farm Girl blocks too. I have had the book for ages! Happy quilting!

I totally agree with your son. We're hoping to get an 8 year old black and tan boy. My Darby has been so lonesome since Scooter passed.

I decided to post what I have so far. I made a few more blocks yesterday and I'm hoping to finish up today. It got sort of bright on me (understatement of the year!) but I decided to just go with the bright and think of all the bright fabrics that I don't use that often that I've gotten used up.

This isn't the finished layout. I'm just putting the blocks up as I make them.

Yay! Was hoping this thread would show up
I started Friday anyway - sewed a bunch of hexies for my current one block wonder. Yesterday I quilted a UFO, and and got the binding on it today. I'm going to claim a June UFO finish for this one

Today, more sewing - it's way too hot around here to head anywhere outside for Canada day. So, I'll probably work some more on my One Block Wonder. And maybe I'll try to tidy my sewing room. Right now, I can't bear to be in there, so I'm sewing in the TV room (which has the advantage of being 1 floor lower and much cooler). If it gets much worse, I'll be forced downstairs and maybe I'll get some more UFOs quilted on the longarm.

This is the current state of my one block wonder - about 1/2 the hexies are made.
