Virtual Quilting Weekend -- June 30 - July 4, 2017
Since this is a long holiday weekend for many in the US, I'm making this month's VQW a little longer than normal . So join in when you can and share what you're working on.
For newcomers, Virtual Quilting Weekend is when we work on various quilt projects (or organize your room, shop for new projects, whatever you want to do!) and then share information with the group on your project. We love pictures and many of us go away from the weekend with new ideas.
This weekend, I hope to get my sewing room organized and finish a Lemoyne Star top. Current state of my sewing room!

Next VQW is August 4-6.

Heather, thank-you for starting this early. I love your nice sewing room. It looks as neat as mine. Maybe I'm put that on the list of things to do next time.
I have a few projects I'm working on and I want to get them done. I also plan to sew through 5th.
My projects for this weekend:
1 - put 2.5" log cabin king size quilt together, including borders. I have all 80 blocks pieced, but I need to iron and square them up. Then put together.
2 - quilt a snowman table runner. Just need to layer and quilt.
3 - RWB table runners - need to add border and layer and quilt.
3 - make 2-3 10.5" quilting Bee blocks. 2 cut out, just need to do 1 hr sewing, ironing and take pic.
4 - when that is all done, I will try to finish my Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt top.

Heather, thank you again for hosting the VQW and for making it longer. I've been waiting so long for this. I got a couple projects that I have in mind to work on. One is a hand quilting charity quilt. The other is the Craftsy kit that I started to piece a week or so ago. I am so excited good luck with your room.

I may end up just a cheerleader for you all who working on a project. My mom passed away 2.5 weeks ago and I haven't had the energy or motivation to do much above the minimum around here. Just helping my sisters help my dad with his
needs and wants (clearing out his basement/organizing what he wants to keep so he can move stuff out of his storage unit into the basement and thus free up almost 200 bucks a month (which he's been paying the past 3 years---oy). I am taking people's advice and being kind to myself, getting rest, not pushing to do what really doesns't need to be done.

Thank you for hosting again, we just got home from camping but hope to work some more on my zig zag border this weekend to add to my peacock (ongoing) project. Here is what I have so far.

I'm in! I have started a froggie wall hanging for my sister who loves anything to do with frogs. I am also hoping to make more progress on my snowman quilt. The top is very close to done. AND... I have a set of placemats and table runner with a fall theme going.

thanks for hosting.
I have 3 things to work on.
First, A quilt that is partly quilted-- need to decide on next threads I want to use, once that's done the quilting should go pretty quickly. Second- Unsew and resew a section of a quilt top that got cattywumpus, then get it sandwiched and ready to quilt-- it's a modern piece with lots of space for quilting, so deciding how to quilt it may take a while. Third- finish the June section of my temperature quilt.
If those things get get done I will work on the two pieces I'm doing in collaboration with another artist.
